Facilities

The Department of Biology is housed in the former Life Sciences Building which was renamed Dalton Hall on April 26, 2010 in honor of Harry and Becca Dalton. The Dalton's are generous donors to Winthrop University whose donations include a $1 million leadership gift to establish the Harry and Becca Dalton Endowed Chair in Environmental Sciences and Environmental Studies and $1 million in planned gifts for the environmental sciences and studies program.

Recreational & Research Complex

Additionally, Winthrop University owns a 325-acre research area with a large undisturbed wooded area and a 20-acre lake available for field study and field trips.
