The B.S. in Environmental Science is an interdisciplinary major. This means that in addition to taking courses in the Environmental Program (ENVS), you will take courses from a variety of different departments and programs on campus. Environmental Science majors take courses in Biology, Geology, and other science disciplines,in addition to key courses in Anthropology, Economics, Geography, Political Science, Psychology. This provides students with a unique opportunity to learn from experts in a variety of fields across Winthrop's campus.

Science and Math Electives
Select four additional courses numbered above 199 in at least two designators in Biology (BIOL), Chemistry (CHEM), Geology (GEOL), Math (MATH), Human Nutrition (NUTR), Physics (PHYS), or Science (SCIE). BIOL 300: Scientific Process in Biology is recommended.
Environmental Electivesa
Students select three environmental elective courses from at least two designators (i.e. ENVS, ANTH, ECON, etc.). Available courses change each semester. Check out courses that have recently been offered and those that are being taught in Fall 2023 Environmental Courses.
