The B.A. in Environmental Studies is an interdisciplinary major. This means that in addition to taking courses in the Environmental Program (ENVS), you will take courses from a variety of different departments and programs on campus. Environmental Studies majors take course in Anthropology, Economics, Geography, Political Science, Psychology, in addition to key courses in Biology, Geology, and other science disciplines. This provides students with a unique opportunity to learn from experts in a variety of fields across Winthrop's campus.

Environmental Electivesa
Students select six environmental elective courses from at least three designators (i.e. ENVS, ANTH, ECON, etc.). Available courses change each semester. Check out courses that have recently been offered and those that are being taught in Fall 2023.
Science and Math Electivesc
In addition to courses that fulfill Quantitative Skills and Natural Sciences General Education requirements, select one course in Biology (BIOL), Chemistry (CHEM), Geology (GEOL), Math (MATH), Human Nutrition (NUTR), Physics (PHYS), or Science (SCIE).
