Facilities

Our facilities include a computer lab and a study room.

Computer Lab: 23 computers equipped with Microsoft Office, Skype, and Audacity. These programs can be used by students to complete World Language and Cultures course assignments and create voice and video recordings for their classes.

These computers can also be used by students to screen foreign films assigned by instructors.

Study Room: It offers the same equipment as the computer lab but in a more open setting, perfect for group projects and Conversation Hours.

  • Record your voice or create a video (for oral projects or internet-based homework assignments such as MyLab) in the computer lab equipped with microphone, headphones, speakers, ipads, green screen, tripod, etc.
  • Receive help and support from our highly qualified staff.
  • Practice oral conversations with a member of our staff in Spanish or French.

CONVERSATION HOURS

The Language Learning Center is also the location of Conversation Hours, an informal 60 minutes of chatting where those who want to learn a language sit on comfy chairs with native or heritage speakers. To join, just show up! There are no lesson plans. The conversations are centered on a multitude of topics and are spontaneous, as among friends.

The Language Learning Center offers conversation hours in Spanish, French.

The only rule: NO ENGLISH !

The conversation hours will be posted at the main entrance on the TV display.
