Timmons is the Assistant Director of Residence Life- Residential Education and the instructor for LEAD 120A (Symposium on Residential Learning and Leadership).  Prior to arriving at Winthrop in 1991, he had coordinated the Residential Leadership Courses at Ball State University where he also served as a Director in Residence Halls.  He has served on the American College Personnel Association (ACPA) Commission for Wellness Directorate Board, the ACPA Commission for Housing and Residence Life, and as a reviewer for annual ACPA convention programs. He has been published by the SEAHO Report and the ACPA Words on Wellness Report.  Timmons has taught several courses at Winthrop including the Human Experience: Who am I?, Symposia in the Honors Program (topics include The Beatles and Popular Culture and Music of the 1960s), and Principles of the Learning Academy.  He has teamed with his brother for presentations and trivia shows on popular music.
