The Department of English welcomed seven amazing English alumni back to campus for the English Alumni Panel. The panelists answered student-submitted questions and provided insights into the professionalization of the English major.

Dr. Dustin M. Hoffman was invited to be a featured reader at the 27th Season of the Contemporary Writers Series at Aquinas College who are hosting a theme of "Working Titles: Working Class Voices in American Literature"
Dr. Amanda Hiner’s research from her book chapter “Equipping Students for Success in College and Beyond: Placing Critical Thinking Instruction at the Heart of a General Education Curriculum” was included in the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy’s entry on critical thinking pedagogy.
Dr. Amanda Hiner published two invited book reviews, one for Eighteenth-Century Fiction and one for Humanities Net, and was invited to contribute an article on British women’s satire for the Northeastern University academic website and archive Women Writers Online and an article on teaching Anne Finch’s satiric poetry for a special topics book collection.
Dr. Allan Nail presented as an invited speaker on teaching banned books at the Winthrop NCTE/Literary Society Banned Books Presentation.
