The Center for Career Development and Internships (CDI) provides resources and programs for students and alumni to develop the necessary skills to conduct effective career searches and make informed career decisions. Services include career coaching, professional development workshops, résumé reviews, mock interviews and the AI-powered platform Big Interview, internship and job search assistance, employment fairs, and an online career management platform, Handshake. Handshake enables students and alumni to search for full-time, part-time, internship, or volunteer opportunities, as well as employer information sessions and career fairs.
The CDI also works closely with employers throughout South Carolina, the Charlotte metro area, and beyond, to assist with promoting their employment opportunities and to help them recruit and hire students. We welcome employers to Winthrop's campus for information sessions and tabling, networking events, resume and mock interview days, and multiple career fairs each year.
