Dr. Androzzi is a professor of Physical Education Teacher Education (PETE) and the PETE program director in the department of Physical Education, Sport and Human Performance (PESH). Prior to joining the Winthrop community in 2019, he was an associate professor and program coordinator of PETE at Shepherd University in West Virginia. In West Virginia, he served as the Vice President of Secondary Physical Education for the West Virginia Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. Dr. Androzzi’s research focuses on high intensity interval training in physical education, preventing childhood obesity, interdisciplinary health and physical education, and motivation in physical activity. Dr. Androzzi consistently publishes in scholarly and peer-reviewed journals and presents at national, regional, state, and local conferences. He enjoys promoting wellness in the community by contributing to afterschool and in-school programs which promote healthy eating, fitness, and social skill development. Dr. Androzzi has a great passion for teaching health, physical education, and teacher education. Outside of work, Dr. Androzzi loves spending time with family and friends, hiking, backpacking, mountain bicycling, swimming, exercising, and playing net sports and disc golf.
