    The National Alliance of Black School Educators (NABSE) is the nation's premiere non-profit organization devoted to furthering the academic success for the nation's children-particularly children of African descent. With almost 50 years of service, NABSE boasts a membership of more than 6,700 preeminent educators including teachers, administrators, and superintendents, as well as corporate and institutional members. Founded in 1970 by Dr. Charles D. Moody Sr., NABSE is dedicated to improving both the educational experiences and accomplishments of African American youth through the development and use of instructional and motivational methods that increase levels of inspiration, attendance, and overall achievement.

    The Physical Education Majors Club (PEM Club) is open to all students enrolled in the Physical Education Teacher Education (PETE) degree program. The PEM Club sponsors a number of special events during the year, including participation in the SuperStars competition during the South Carolina Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (SCAHPERD) Conference, Hoops for Hearts, and other fund-raising and social activities during the year. The PEM Club is a professional organization that allows students to begin to develop as professionals in the discipline by networking with other students on campus and across the state.

    The Sport Management Association (SMA) is a student organization in the PESH department. While the organization is dedicated to increasing networking opportunities and advancement of Sport Management majors, membership is open to all students who are interested in obtaining a job or internship in sports. Elected officers will lead the SMA and direct all activities. During each school year, the SMA will plan events devoted to the further advancement of knowledge in the sport management industry and participate in community service projects. Additionally, the SMA attempts to provide networking opportunities within the sport industry and the broader field called sport management.

    This organization is a professional organization in which Human Development and Family Studies students are highly engaged in professional and service activities that enhance their educational experience. There are multiple benefits to joining an organization, such as the opportunity to make connections with new friends.
