From the Chicagoland area, Joanna Harris came to Winthrop after serving as the Assistant Director for Student-Athlete Academic Services at Georgia State University. She joined the College of Education, Sport, and Human Sciences as the Educator Services Coordinator in the fall of 2017 before becoming Director of Student Academic Services in the summer of 2021. Prior to her time with the College of Education, Sport, and Human Sciences, Harris served as Winthrop University’s Assistant Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Academic Services. She received her master’s degree from Northern Illinois University in Sport Management and earned her bachelor’s degree at Wheaton College, Illinois.
