How to Register for Orientation

Students

Students can register online  through the Admission portal.  After you have successfully registered online, you will receive an e-mail confirmation.

To change your Orientation session, please contact us at Orientation@winthrop.edu.

Families

During Freshman Orientation, we will offer a Family Orientation program for up to two family members that will run concurrently on the first day. When students register for their orientation session they will have the option to register two family members.  Family members of transfer students registered for a (virtual) transfer orienation session will be provided access to on-line resources.

All family members, regardless of age, who are planning to attend Freshman Family Orientation must be registered in the system.

Find more information about Family Orientation here.

New Student Fee

Once you've decided to make Winthrop your home, it's time to pay the enrollment deposit.  All students are required to submit an enrollment deposit of $300 by June 1, or four weeks from the date of your acceptance. The deposit is non-refundable after June 1, and covers your orientation fee and housing application fee (if applicable).

Any remaining balance will be applied toward your tuition and fees for your first semester.  Credit card payments are subject to a convenience fee.  Financial Aid awards and outside scholarships cannot be used to pay the enrollment deposit.

International Students

International students should contact the International Center at 803/323-2133 regarding Orientation requirements and accommodations.

Students or Guests with Disabilities

To request accessibility accommodations for Orientation, please provide information about your needs through the Orientation Registration process, and we will work with you on your request. Please note that both Orientation and Family Orientation (when in-person) do involve a good bit of walking around campus. Winthrop University does not have wheelchairs, scooters, or other equipment available for rent, so please plan to bring or rent your own equipment for your visit, sufficient for your needs.
