We hope you had an enjoyable summer break and are ready to be welcomed to campus. The following is important information for those returning to campus or moving on campus for the first time.


Student Move In

New Student Move-In will take place August 16 from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm. Returning Student Move-In will take place on August 17 from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm. Some groups will be assigned a different move-in date, but those students will be communicated with directly by their program director or coach. We are unable to accommodate additional early arrivals outside of these prearranged groups.


Required: Pre-Check-In Process

The Pre-Check-In process will open on August 5. This is required for all students and must be completed prior to your scheduled move-in day. This process can be found on Wingspan by accessing Eaglesnest. It will take you through the following steps:

  1. Log into your Wingspan account.
  2. Navigate to Eaglesnest Housing under the Student Tools menu.
  3. Click on Fall Pre-Check-In Process.
  4. Room Key Acknowledgment - This form acknowledges that you are responsible for your room key, and will be charged to re-core the lock(s) in your room if you lose the key.
  5. RCR: Room Condition Report - This form acknowledges that you will be responsible for assessing any damages in your room upon your arrival. Once you move out of the room, you will be charged for any damages not listed on the initial RCR.
  6. Emergency Contact Information - This is kept on file in case of an emergency.
  7. Medical Form - This information is kept in the event of a medical emergency in the residence hall. This can be the same person as your emergency contact, or someone different.
  8. Move-In Time - Select a time for your arrival to move in on your expected date.

Required: Immunization Compliance Completed through the Health Services Patient Portal

In order to sign up for a move-in time and complete the Pre-check-In process, you must have completed all of your immunization requirements for Health Services through the Patient Portal due by July 15, 2024. This only applies to New Students and returning students with immunization holds.


Location

All students arriving on the 16 and 17 will proceed to the Winthrop Lake (1162 Eden Terrace, Rock Hill, SC, 29730). There you will check in and receive your room key. You will then proceed to your assigned residence hall on the main campus to move in. We structure check-in this way in order to alleviate congestion on main campus and ensure a smoother move-in process for everyone. 

Parking lots/spaces immediately outside of your residence hall will be unload only areas. You should pull up to the unload area and unload your belongings onto the curb before moving your vehicle to parking at the Cherry Road Lot (Lot F on Parking Map). You will be allowed 10 minutes to unload your vehicle. Once you have parked your vehicle, you will return and begin moving your belongings to your room.

Students arriving any other day outside of the 16 or 17 will go directly to their residence hall.


Important Information

  • Parking Permits - If you are planning to bring a car to campus, you will need to purchase a parking permit from the Winthrop University Police Department. Additional details regarding permit cost can be found by logging onto the online parking permit request page. Students can pick up their parking pass at the Winthrop University Police Department when they arrive on campus
  • What to Bring/What Not to Bring - It's never too early to begin the packing process. Start by knowing what you can bring to campus(PDF-502K) this year in addition to looking through our FAQ.
  • Loft Pick-Up - If you purchased a loft bed from TimberNest you can pick it up on Friday August 16, 2024, from 8:00 am - 3:00 pm at the loading dock of Dalton Hall on Winthrop's main campus. If you are interested in learning more about TimberNest Lofts click here.
  • Residence Life has a limited number of moving bins; however, we recommend you bring a handcart for your move-in if you own one. Not all residence halls have elevators and their availability cannot be guaranteed on move-in day.
