ASSOCIATION FOR WOMEN IN COMMUNICATIONS
A nationally renown organization dedicated to advance women as  leaders and professionals in the field of communication. Industry professionals share workforce expertise and insight.  The Association explores interview skills, resumes, and professional attire. Workshops, speakers, and networking opportunities expand student's knowledge and connection to growing communication fields.

HER CAMPUS
Possessing a national affiliation, the Winthrop Chapter of Her Campus publication is dedicated to providing college age women with a creative online newsletter. A highly engaged group publishes healthy tips and stories related to study abroad opportunities, relationships, fitness, beauty, career interests, and academics.

NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF BLACK JOURNALISTS // WINTHROP UNIVERSITY ASSOCIATION OF BROADCAST JOURNALISTS [WUABJ]
Journalism and Mass Communication majors work together to educate members about the field of journalism and opportunities in scholarship, internship, and professional career. Panel discussions, media mixers, Black History program, social networking events, and community service tasks take place throughout the semester.

RADIO TELEVISION DIGITAL NEWS ASSOCIATION OF THE CAROLINAS

Winthrop is the first chapter to be established in South Carolina. Membership is offered to all students interested in radio and electronic television news. Students glean from industry leaders in the Carolinas and open doors to future employment!

SOCIETY OF PROFESSIONAL JOURNALISTS [SPJ]
A national organization open to all students interested in a journalism career. SPJ promotes high professional standards and First Amendment issues. Workshops, speakers, and conventions provide opportunities to meet reporters, editors, and professional writers. SPJ also sponsors a high school essay contest on freedom of expression.

VIDEO PRODUCTION CLUB

Broadcast enthusiasts gather to sharpen video skills in a fun setting. Students plan and produce videos for various organizations on campus as well as original scripts.
